PROJECT FOR CONSTRUCTION DEVELOPMENT OF THE IRRIGATION NETWORK HYDRAULIC INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE IRRIGATION AREA OF VALLES ALAVESES
CLIENT       ACUAEBRO

On 21 June a Collaboration Convention was signed between Alava County Council, the Ebro Hydrographical Confederation and “Aguas de la Cuenca del Ebro, S.A.” for the preparation of the “Project of construction development of the irrigation network hydraulic infrastructure for transformation of the Valles Alaveses zone, Irrigation (Zone 4) into an irrigated area”, corresponding to Alto Omecillo. The hydraulic infrastructure for Zone 4 of the Valles Alaveses consists basically of:

  • A primary network approximately 40 Km long, formed by iron piping of various diameters and working pressures and PVC piping, also with various diameters and nominal pressures.
  • Four regulation pools to collect from various tributaries of the Omecillo river above level 800. The system is similar for the four pools: a small dam for collection; a small diameter conduit not more than 2 Km long leading to the pool and the pool properly said with all its constituent parts.
  • A dam of loose materials with a concrete screen in the Valle stream, also a tributary of the Omecillo, with a height of 30 m above the foundations.
